A live in-studio version appeared on Drums and Wireless: BBC Radio Sessions 77-89, which later appeared on Transistor Blast: The Best of the BBC Sessions, and another live version appeared on the 2002 Coat of Many Cupboards box set.
XTC released a dub reworking of "Meccanic Dancing" on the Go + EP under the title "Dance With Me, Germany."

After a twenty three hour flight, then, on arriving in Sydney, being kept awake all that day to do press and radio interviews culminating in falling asleep live on air (between records) on Triple J, the next evening's gig with rented gear, at the Marconi Club, seemed like a night off.
